Life is good
With the negativity of current events taking over social media, this short form social advertisement for my favorite brand, Life is Good, shares a positive side of life during a major pandemic. It's easy to get trapped by uncertainty and hate that now flood our lives. More than ever it's important to stay positive and look on the bright side. This video is all about embracing the time you now get to spend with your pets, chilling by the pool, exploring the outdoors (social distancing of course), or going on sunset drives.
OUR MISSION : TO SPREAD THE POWER OF OPTIMISM
In 1994, two brothers, Bert and John Jacobs, started the Life is Good Company out of their van, selling t-shirts and spreading happiness across the country. Today, the brand has grown into a large non-profit, supporting children and continuing to speak at organizations across the U.S. Through these three simple words: life is good, they are not only changing the world, but influencing others to focus on the good. I am inspired by the Life is Good brand for its constant positivity in changing times.
This project was a long-time coming collaboration between me and my forever friend Emily Hatton. Her and I click in many ways, sharing a passion for life and spreading joy through our art. It was only a matter of time before we collaborated on a project where I brought her illustrations to life through motion. By using children's book style illustrations, we are enforcing the unique cartoon aesthetic of the brand and lifting the spirits of those who view our ad. Each scene was illustrated with the intention of seamlessly panning from one activity to the next, which was animated in the final product. Subtle puppet tool animation was also added to choice assets, bringing the world to life.
